CAIRO – 2 July 2017: Barcelona announced Friday that they resigned Gerard Deulofeu from Everton. Barcelona exercised the buy-back clause in the player’s contract.

“FC Barcelona have activated the buy-back clause for Gerard Deulofeu. In the following days, the terms will be agreed with both Everton and the player. Deulofeu’s contract will run until 30 June 2019.” Barcelona said in a statement.

Deulofeu, 23, is a Barcelona academy product. He joined the club when he was nine years old, but failed to earn a starting place in Barcelona first team. He moved to Everton on a year loan in 2013, then another year loan to Sevilla on 2014.

Deulofeu joined Everton on 2015 with a permanent contract but Barcelona added the right to buy back the player in the contract.

Deulofeu played for Milan for six months last year and he delivered a great performance with the Italian side.
