Klopp praises "exceptional" Salah

CAIRO-10 December 2020: Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp stated that the club's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is an exceptional player after he became the club's top scorer in the UEFA Champions League history.

 

"An exceptional player, an absolutely exceptional player. Since we were together he helps the team the way he knows and appreciates the help of the team as well." Klopp on Wednesday.

 

Salah scored a goal in Liverpool's 1_1 draw with FC Midtjylland of Denmark in the final round of the UEFA Champions League group stage. 

 

The Egyptian winger's goal allowed him to overtake the record of the Reds' legend Steven Gerrard, becoming the club's top scorer in the UEFA Champions League.

 

Klopp added "One record after another. I didn’t know he could break this record tonight but I’m pretty sure he is proud of that, he should be." 

 

Liverpool, who secured the qualification to the second round in matchday five, will enter the next round's draw as group winners.
