CAIRO-10 December 2020: Liverpool Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah scored a goal in Liverpool's 1_1 draw with FC Midtjylland of Denmark in the final round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The Egyptian winger's goal allowed him to overtake the record of the Reds' legend Steven Gerrard, becoming the club's top scorer in the UEFA Champions League.

"It's a great feeling, of course, to be the top scorer for the club [in the Champions League], something I'm proud of." Salah told BT Sport after the match.

Liverpool, who secured the qualification to the second round in matchday five, will enter the next round's draw as group winners.

Salah added "I need to keep going like that and scoring more goals and make the gap maybe bigger between me and the others. But I'm trying all the time to score goals just to help the team to win games – that's the most important thing."

Salah led his team to win the UEFA Champions League title in 2019 to secure the club's sixth title in the competition's history.
