CAIRO-26 November 2020: Zamalek’s Moroccan winger, Achraf Bencherki, is excited about the CAF Champions League final against arch rivals, Al Ahly, scheduled on Friday night at Cairo International Stadium.

“It’s going to be a difficult game in which anything is possible. But personally speaking, I want to win the Champions League title because I love challenges and playing against big teams.” Bencherki told FIFA on Thursday.

Zamalek fans put much hope on their Moroccan winger to help the team clinch the title as he has shown a great performance during the team’s run in the competition this season.

Bencherki scored 7 goals for Zamalek in the competition this season, including their winning goal against Raja Casablanca in the semi-finals first leg in Morocco.

In 2017, Bencherki participated in the CAF Champions League final for the first time in his career when Wydad faced Al Ahly.

The first leg in Alexandria ended with a 1-1 draw thanks to a goal from Bencherki while the second leg ended with a 1-0 win for the Moroccan team to win the title.

The Moroccan added “The CAF Champions League is the number one tournament I like to play in. I love to show what I’m really capable of in major tournaments like this one. Now I’m enjoying a very good period like the one I had with Wydad. When you play for such big teams, it brings out the best in you.”
