CAIRO-26 November 2020: The players of Al Ahly and Zamalek underwent COVID-19 tests on Wednesday ahead of the CAF Champions League Final.

CAF announced on Wednesday that Al Ahly’s Walid Soliman, Aliou Diend and Saleh Gomaa as well as Zamalek’s Abdullah Gomaa, Mahmoud Hamdy El Wensh and Youssef Obama tested positive for COVID-19 and they will miss the CAF Champions League final.

Al Ahly will miss the team’s starting midfielder Dieng who played an important role during the team’s route to the final and they will also miss their veteran winger Soliman who was expected to participate in the match after his amazing performance in the Egyptian Cup quarter-finals last week.

Soliman scored Al Ahly’s two goals against Abou Qir Fertilizers SC to lad his team to the semi-finals.

On the other hand, Zamalek will miss two of the team’s starting back line as Abdullah Gomaa established his place as the starting left back after the team’s veteran Mohamed Abdelshaft suffered an injury that sidelined him for months.

Zamalek will also miss El Wensh who shined this season and earned a starting position in both Zamalek and the Egyptian national team.

Zamalek’s starting playmaker Youssef Obama will also miss the game and he is expected to be replaced by the team’s veteran Mahmoud Abdelrazik Shikabala.

The game starts on Friday at 9:00 pm.
