CAIRO-21 November 2020: Al Ahly defeated Abou Qir Fertilizers 2-0 on Saturday in the Egyptian cup quarter-finals to book their place in the competition’s semi-finals.

This game was Al Ahly’s last test ahead of the decisive match in the CAF Champions League final against Zamalek, scheduled on 27 November.

Despite resting many starting names, Al Ahly were the better side in the match and dominated the game from the start to the end.

Walid Soliman’s screamer opened the score for the Red Devils after 13 minutes and he doubled the score from the penalty spot 7 minutes later.

Second division-side Abou Qir Fertilizers scored their only goal in the game by kayrfa La.

Al Ahly will face Al Ittihad of Alexandria in the semi-finals on 1 December at Suez stadium and the winner will play the Cup final at Cairo International stadium on 5 December.

Al Ahly have a record 36 Egyptian Cup titles and their last success in the competition was in 2017 after defeating El Masry in the final.
