CAIRO-19 November 2020: Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, Wadi Degla and Egypt U-23 team defender, announced on Wednesday that he is close to join Al Ahly.

"There are negotiations between Al Ahly and Wadi Degla but I think they are putting the final touches on the deal." Beckham said.

Beckham is an academy product of Al Ahly and he left the Red Devils to spend two years on a loan to Haras El Hdoud and Wadi Degla.

Degla made the deal permanent in 2019. The player's performance with the team in the league and his contribution to the U-23 team success encouraged Al Ahly to re-sign him.

Beckham added "Al Ahly is my home and it has been my club since I was a kid."

Beckham played a great part in the U-23 campaign to win the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations at home and he is expected to be one of the starting players for the Pharaohs in Tokyo Olympic Games.

Al Ahly will face Zamalek on Friday 27 November in the CAF Champions League final at Cairo International stadium.

Asked about his expectations for the match, Beckham said "It is very hard to expect the winner. Al Ahly and Zamalek are big teams and both teams have a chance to win the title."
