CAF postpones Champions League semi-final, final

CAIRO-29 October 2020: Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday the postponement of CAF Champions League final match between Zamalek and Raja and the CAF Champions League final.

Zamalek match against Raja was scheduled on 1 November at Cairo international stadium while the CAF Champions League final was scheduled on 6 November in Cairo.

“Discussions continue between clubs and CAF experts to find a pattern complying with regulations and returning to play spirit. At this stage, the postponement of the semi-final between Zamalek and Raja is certain. Constructive spirit on both sides,” the CAF official account tweeted.

Regarding the CAF Champions League final, CAF tweeted “At the request of the Egyptian authorities, the final is now postponed. Official discussions are underway to find a suitable date. Stakeholders are working in good faith,"

Al Ahly reached CAF Champions League final after defeating Wydad Casablanca 5-1 on aggregate to book their spot in the final for the 13th time in the club’s history.

Al Ahly are waiting the winner between Zamalek and Raja, who will meet in Cairo. Zamalek won the first leg in Casablanca 1-0.
