CAIRO-18 October 2020: Zamalek face Raja Casablanca on Sunday night in the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg at Mohamed V stadium.

“We will show our character and ambition because our target is to reach the final. We played five games in 15 days and my players are exhausted, and hopefully this will not reflect on such an important game.” Zamalek manager Jaime Pacheco said.

On the domestic level, Zamalek are fighting to secure the second position in the league to reach the CAF Champions League next season.

Zamalek players hope to achieve a good result to have an advantage ahead of the second leg in Cairo.

The Portuguese manager added “Having the return leg at home is an advantage but only theoretically. All the semifinalists are good teams and chances are equal.”

On the other hand, Raja are having their best days after securing the domestic league title after a fierce race with their arch-rivals Wydad Casablanca.

Raja manager Jamal Sellami trusts his team’s ability to deliver in the continental level after the recent success in the league.

“Our target is to win the Champions League for the fourth time. Games between teams from Morocco and Egypt are always tough and are decided by the smallest of details. I have high confidence in my players.” Sellami said.

The game starts on 9:00 pm.
