Al Ahly’s Swiss coach Rene Weiler has arrived to Cairo in the past few hours.

Weiler spent a vacation in Switzerland with his family, before returning on Monday in preparation for continuing his journey with the Red devils.

Al Ahly previously announced the renewal of Weiler’s contract for a new season, after the end of his contract at the end of the current season.

Weiler is preparing to return to the leadership of Al Ahly’s training sessions, in preparation for the completion of the Egyptian league competition.

The Egyptian League championship will resume on the seventh of next August.

Football activity in Egypt has been stopped, as all the leagues in the world, since March 14, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Al Ahly is in the lead with 49 points from 17 games, followed by Arab contractors with 33 points from 18 games, then Pyramids with 32 points from 18 games, then Zamalek comes with 31 points from 16 games.

On the other hand, The CAF Executive Committee announced on Tuesday that CAF Champions League semi-finals will resume in September with a Final Four (4) format, adding that the semi-Final matches will be played in a single match.

Al Ahly will face 2017 CAF Champions League winners Wydad Casablanca, while Zamalek will take on Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

Al Ahly has won a record 8 CAF Champions League titles but they failed to win the title since 2013.
