CAIRO – 24 June 2017: Paris Saint Germain defender Marc Marquinhos went out this Friday to kill Barcelona hopes of signing his teammate Marco Verratti.

Marquinhos, 23 years old, said “he never said he wanted to leave PSG, I do not want him to go and, frankly, I don't think he will leave us”, as reported by Marca.com.

Marquinhos talked about Verratti's importance to PSG and their goals as a club, he said “he is a great player and an important part of PSG's project, so I hope he'll stay with us.”

Barcelona are trying to strengthen their squad through signing Marco Verratti.

On the other hand Marquinhos talked about rumors linked him with moving to Manchester United, he said “I have a contract until 2019 and talks are underway to extend that, I am relaxed, I have expressed my desire to stay with PSG so I am happy” according to ESPNFC.com

Marquinhos, the Brazilian International defender, joined Paris Saint Germain in 2013 from AS Roma.
