CAIRO-23 April 2020: Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp spoke about the fear of getting sacked if the team didn’t improve during his early days at the club.

In his interview with Sky Sports, Klopp talked about the hardships he faced at Liverpool after taking over Brendan Rodgers’ team in 2015.

"It was really clear we needed time. It was clear we cannot fix it overnight. Everyone wanted that, but we couldn't so I had to ask for time. I knew then it was a different level, and if I can't deliver here quick enough, then I will get the sack.,” Klopp told Sky Sports.

Eventually, Klopp and Liverpool started having momentum and the club was able to reach both the Champions League and European League finals; however, they lost both of them.

“When we lost finals against Sevilla or City or Real Madrid, I think pundits said if he doesn't win the next one then they might change, but internally it was never somebody thinking like this," Klopp added to Sky Sports.

The 52-year-old’s efforts with the club finally turned into success after Klopp guided Liverpool to winning the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League for the first time in more than 10 years.
