CAIRO – 26 March 2020: Bayern Munich are keen to sign Barcelona’s goalkeeper, Marc Andre Ter Stegen, whose contract with the Catalan club ends in 2022 summer.

The German goalkeeper affirmed in many occasions that he does not want to leave Barcelona. However, the club’s poor results in the recent seasons, could force the German to leave the club.

Ter Stegen, who is considered by many as Barcelona’s second best player after Lionel Messi, joined the club in 2014 summer from his childhood club, Borussia Mönchengladbach.

During his first season with the club, Ter Stegen was made the first-choice goalkeeper in both the Copa del Rey and in the UEFA Champions League but he did not participate in the league as then Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique, picked Claudio Bravo.

The same situation continued for two years until Bravo left the Catalan club to join Manchester City, paving the way for the German goalkeeper to be Barcelona’s first choice goalkeeper in all competitions.

During his time with Barcelona, Ter Stegen won Four LaLiga titles, four Copa del Rey titles as well as winning the 2015 UEFA Champions League title.
