CAIRO – 26 March 2020: Al Ahly Swiss manager, Rene Weiler, believes that coaching a big club like Al Ahly is very difficult but will make him a better coach.

“What I’m experiencing here is great and incredibly enriching. It will make me a more complete and better coach. You get a new perspective on life when you live and work in Africa.” The Swiss said during an interview with NZZ.

Al Ahly fans highly appreciate their manager’s work as he led the club to CAF Champions League semi-finals and they are leading the domestic league table with 16 points clear.

Al Ahly has a record 8 CAF Champions League titles and their fans put much hope on their manager to lead the club to win the long-awaited title.

Weiler added “I am not interested in what the manager earns or how long he is employed in the club. It's the performance principle that counts.”

Weiler is still living in Cairo and did not return back home despite the suspension of football competitions in Egypt amid the spread of coronavirus.
