Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has praised his Egyptian teammate Mohamed Salah, the team's top scorer.

The Egyptian star participated in the full minutes of the 27th round of the English Premier League, which the Reds won 3-2 against West Ham United and scored Liverpool's second goal.

"I think Salah has shown during his seasons here that he is a great player and the numbers speak for themselves," Van Dijk said in comments highlighted by the Liverpool Echo newspaper.

"We are very happy with him and this is the most important thing for him as well."

"He is a very important member of the Liverpool team, not only in terms of goals, but he also contributes defensively."

"We are very happy to have Salah and to continue in this manner," the Dutch giant concluded.

Salah raised his balance of goals to 15 goals in 27 rounds in the Premier League, in addition to 4 goals in the Champions League.

Liverpool have clinically clinched the Premier League title this season, topping the competition table by 22 points from their nearest stalkers Manchester City 11 rounds before the end.
