CAIRO – 19 June 2017 Mahmoud Taher, President of Al-Ahly SC, is considering disbanding the team’s football panel after Anwar Salama resigned on June 15. Salama, a retired former Ahly player and team coach, had resigned because of disagreements he had with the way in which the team appoints managers for the youth teams.

Currently Taha Ismael, who is a sports pundit and former Ahly football player, and Taher are the only members remaining at the football panel.

The football panel was very important for the success of team when Hassan Hamdy served as club president. The panel was very important because it looked at all the important matters regarding the football team and consisted of many experts who used to play football at Al-Ahly.

However, Taher is now considering disbanding the panel due Salama’s resignation, manager Hossam El Badry’s dispute with the panel and because he believes the panel is not as effective as it once was.
