CAIRO – 18 June 2017: Juventus, a big player in this season’s transfer market, rejected Chelsea’s £55.2 million ($70.5 million) bid for Alex Sandro on Saturday.

Giuseppe Marotta, Juventus Chief Executive Officer, told Corriere Della Serra Sport, “We said no to a very good offer from Chelsea for Alex Sandro.”

In response to whether Sandro has been involved in negotiations Marotta commented, “We know that we are competing with clubs that are in a position to offer wages that are not rational for us. And players are always their own boss, I do not know how Alex Sandro reacted."

The 26-year-old transferred from Porto to Juventus in the summer of 2016 summer and has shown great performance in Juventus’ campaign within the Italian league, Italian cup and playing in the Champions League Final.

The Brazilian left back appeared in 43 games last season, scoring three goals and five assists, according to Who Scored.

There could still be a chance for Sandro to move to another team, according to the Daily Mail, depending on improved offers from Chelsea or another team.
