CAIRO – 26 December 2019: Liverpool face a tough test on Thursday night when they return to Premier League competition after missing the last week for participating in FIFA Club World Cup in Doha where the Reds claimed their first title in the competition’s history.

Liverpool will face Leicester City at King Power Stadium where the hosts enjoy an undefeated run since April.

Liverpool suffered during the two teams’ clash at the first half of the season in Liverpool as the Reds decided the game thanks to a late penalty from their veteran James Milner.

The Foxes’ manager, Brendan Rodgers, was the man in charge in Liverpool before the arrival of the German manager, Jurgen Klopp, and he believes that the team now is one of the best in the world.

“You know they're a very resilient team. They have shown if they're [not] playing at their best they still get the results somehow, that's always the mark of a team with a winning mentality, especially when it's consistent.” Rodgers said at the pre game press conference.

On the other hand, Liverpool have a big chance to increase the gap at the top as they are leading the table with 49 points, 10 points ahead of the foxes who played a game more than the Reds.
