CAIRO – 21 December 2019: English giants and 2019 UEFA Champions League winners, Liverpool, face 2019 Copa Libertadores winners, Flamengo, on Saturday night at FIFA Club World Cup Final.

Both teams suffered to secure their spots at the final as Liverpool achieved a narrow 2-1 victory over Mexico’s Monterrey thanks to a late goal from Roberto Firmino while the Brazilians bounced back to defeat Saudi giants Al Hilal 3-1 after they were 1-0 down at the first half.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, expects a tough game against the Brazilians and he showed much respect to the South American champions before the game.

“It's just like a football team should be, like a successful football team is. They are pretty much not used to losing football games anymore because they didn't lose a lot since Jorge Jesus is in.” Klopp said at the pre-final press conference.

Klopp is expected to count on his best players to participate in the game from the start after he rested some of his stars at the semi-final and used them as substitutes.

Liverpool never won the competition as they lost the final in 2005 to Brazil’s Sao Paolo 1-0.
