CAIRO, 17 September 2019:After a lot of discussions and negotiations, Al-Ahly club officials have finally rejected the idea of selling the team's defender Ahmed Fathy during the summer transfer window, which is closed on Tuesday, 17 September 2019.

A source within the Al Ahly said that Pyramids has been in intensive negotiations with the management of his club over the past days to win the services of Ahmed Fathy.

Also, one of the UAE clubs also entered into negotiations to sign the Joker, the source stressed that MamdouhEid, executive director of Pyramids is leading negotiations with Al Ahly, where the amount of 20 million pounds was allocated to buy the player, but the management of Al Ahly rejected the idea of selling the international defender because of the need for his services.

The source added that Swiss coach Rene Weiler also played a big role in rejecting the departure of Ahmed Fathi, especially since he wanted to rely on him mainly.
