CAIRO – 12 September 2019: Barcelona captain. Lionel Messi, questioned Barcelona board’s seriousness in signing Paris Saint Germain Brazilian star, Neymar Jr, at the summer transfer market.

“I don't know if Barcelona did everything possible to ensure his return.” Messi said on Wednesday.

Barcelona moved last summer to re-sign the Brazilian player who represented the club between 2013 and 2017 before leaving to PSG. Barcelona offers did not meet with the French club demands.

Messi added “I would have loved Neymar to have rejoined the club,"

Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez have formed a great partnership during their time together at the club and led the Catalan to dominate the domestic titles in Spain beside winning 2015 UEFA Champions League title.

The Argentinean continued “On a sporting level, Neymar is one of the best in the world. The club would also have taken a leap in terms of the level of image rights and sponsors.”
Messi missed the opening four fixtures of the season as he is suffering from a muscular injury that will force him also to miss Barcelona clash at home against Valencia on Saturday.
