CAIRO – 12 June 2017: Marco Verratti’s days with Paris Saint Germain are numbered. The Italian midfielder is closer than ever to leaving the team for FC Barcelona, amid rumors the team is planning to make a €100 million ($112 million) for the player, Bleacher Report said on Sunday.

Verratti had a meeting with the new sporting director Antero Henrique. The player told him he wants to leave the team, according to lequipe.fr on Sunday.

Verratti, 24 years old, joined Paris Saint Germain in 2012 and he has a contract with the club until 2021 according to Marca.com.

Marco’s Verratti’ agent declared last month that money is not enough to keep the player in the team. He said “now it’s clear: money isn’t enough. Appeal is also needed, and in the last four or five years, the French club hasn’t done enough to improve in that regard,” according to football-italia.net

Barcelona intends to sign Marco Verratti whatever it costs. They see him as a great support to their midfield and the best replacement for Barcelona former player, Xavi, who left the club in 2015.
