CAIRO – 12 June 2017: German football club F.C. Bayern Munich announced on Sunday that Serge Gnabry has signed a three-year contract to play for the team.

The German winger played in the German Bundesliga league for S.V. Werder Bremen, where last year he scored 11 goals in 23 games according to football statistics website whoscored.com.

In a statement published on the Munich team’s website after signing the contract, Gnabry said “it’s a great honor to become part of F.C. Bayern Munich. It’s going to be an exciting time and one that I’m very much looking forward to.”

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge commented on the signing, stating that “we are pleased that Serge Gnabry - another young international German - is coming to FC Bayern. Serge will develop a lot with Bayern.”

21-year-old Gnabry started his professional football career with U.K. team Arsenal F.C. in 2012 where he remained for four years but failed to earn a starting position in the squad. He also spent a season on loan to West Bromwich Albion F.C..
