CAIRO, 26 August 2019: Equatorial Guinea's team, Kano Sport, booked their ticket to qualify for the 32nd round of the African Champions League after a 1-1 draw with Ethiopian Mikkeli.

Kano Sport qualified to face Al Ahly after the reds qualified to the same round by beating Atlabara 13-0 on aggregate.

Kano Sport was founded five years ago, March 2014. They achieved the Guinean title for the first time in their history last season.

The first leg of the 32nd round of CAF Champions League will be on one of the days 13, 14 or 15. The second leg will be in Egypt on one of the days 27, 28 or 29.

Al Ahly new signings, Mahmoud Metwally and Mohamed Magdy known as Afsha, who joined the team this summer started in the team’s starting line-up for the first time.

Al Ahly played the first game under their caretaker manager, Mohamed Youusif, who took charge of the team following Martin Lasarte’s departure.

The Uruguayan manager was sacked after Al-Ahly 1-0 loss to Pyramids at the Egyptian Cup.

Al Ahly are searching for their 9th CAF Champions League title. The team was so close to win the title in 2017 and 2018 but lost the final to Esperence and Wydad Casablance respectively.
