CAIRO, 24 July 2019: Hossam Ghaly, El Gouna’s football director, revealed that the Egyptian national team need to be coached by a foreign manager in the next period.

Egyptian Football Association sacked Javier Aguirre after the failure in 2019 AFCON which was hosted by Egypt. Egypt was knocked out in the 16th round against South Africa.

“The best for Egypt is to hire a foreign coach. There are some brilliant players in the Egyptian League & especially young players,” Hossam Ghaly said to ON Sport channel.

Ghaly revealed also that he was asked to apologize to Hector Cuper, when he was Egypt’s coach, and participate in the 2018 World Cup but he refused to do so.

Ghaly said that Cuper wasn’t the right person to coach Egypt, as well as Javier Aguirre.

“If El Gouna wanted to sign Hector Cuper; I would refuse,” Hossam Ghaly said.

Former Al Ahly & Egyptian national team player announced his football retirement after a brilliant journey with football. He played for many clubs like Feynoord, Tottenham and Saudi Al Nasr.
