CAIRO – 10 June 2017: Italian Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is not leaving his team, he told reporters after a friendly match between Italy and Uruguay on Tuesday, July 7.

“I leave? It’s all only talk, you’re the journalists who published this,” Tutto Sport reported him as saying.

His comments were enough to reassure Juventus fans after rumors of Bonucci was joining the Premier League, specifically Chelsea, where he would have teamed up with former coach Antonio Conte. Bonucci was also listed to join a list of players made by Manchester’s coach Pep Guardiola last summer. That deal was unsuccessul, and the trade window closed.

Bonucci joined Juventus on July 1,, 2010 from the Series B team Bari, and appeared with Juventus 45 times and scored 5 goals in all competitions in season 2016/2017, according to Transfer Market.
