In time for AFCON: LaLiga organizes its biggest event in Egypt

17 June 2019 – Cairo, Egypt:Spanish LaLiga brings to Egypt its renowned LaLiga Space, the largest event of its kind in the Middle East, between the 20th – 22nd of June.

More importantly, the event's press conference is expected to host two of Spain’s biggest football stars and LaLiga ambassadors; Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Morientes.

Hosted by Cairo Festival City Mall, LaLiga Space will also harbour a number of activities tailored to engage fans from all ages;including trivia games and a video corner displaying the most memorable moments in LaLiga history.

The event also provides a themed photo opportunity with aminiature replica of the stadium’s coaches bench. On the other hand, significant t-shirts and footballs will be on display for those who wish to come face to face with tokens of football greatness.

Furthermore, everyone will get a chance to take a picture with the LaLiga trophy.
“LaLiga is keen on promoting Spanish football around the globe with the intention to build the biggest community of loyal fans in each and every country, especially Africa and the Middle East,” said Juan Fuentes, LaLiga delegate to Egypt.

LaLiga’s endeavours to nurture football on an international level are based on four main pillars; collaborating with various entities, training players and coaches, supporting social responsibility activities in communities where they are active and developing the game.

According to Fernando Sanz, LaLiga’s General Director in MENA, Egypt was the prominent choice for this event given its long history of successfully hosting the largest internationalchampionships in the MENA region. Sanz further explained that the team was keen on selecting the same dates of the CAF 2019 in order to reach the biggest possible segment of football fans in Egypt and Africa.

With that said, a number of LaLiga’s most prominent stars will be participating in the CAF with their national teams; including FC Barcelona’s Moussa Wague, Real Valladolid’s Hassen El ID, Girona FC’s Yassine Bounou, CD Leganés’s Youssef En-Nesyri, Celta de Vigo’s Sofiane Boufal, Real Betis’s Aissa Mandi, Villarreal CF’s Karl TokoEkambi, Real Betis’s Wilfrid Kaptoum, Villarreal CF’s Samuel Chukwueze, CD Leganés’s Kenneth Omerou, Levante UD’s Moses Simon, Deportivo Alaves’sWakaso Mubarak, Atlético de Madrid’s Thomas Partey, Leganés’s Kwabena Owusu, Nastic Tarragona’s José Kanté, Málaga CF’s Munir MohandMohamedi, AD Alcorcon’s Aly Abeid, Málaga CF’s Alfred Ndiaye, CD Tenerife B’s Farid Mussa and Las Palmas Atlético’s Ismael AthumanGonzález.

“LaLiga Space gives fans a lifetime opportunity to meet some of the biggest Spanish football champions, watch unforgettable moments of LaLiga’s legacy, learn more about its 20 clubs and players,” added Sanz with apparent excitement. “The event also allows fans to discover the innovative technology that enhances the LaLiga’s viewing experience.”

With that being said, LaLiga Space will be open to the public on Thursday at 5:00 PM (Cairo Time). In addition, LaLiga and Uber are collaborating to give fans 50% discounton trips to or from Cairo Festival City Mall (capped at 40EGP per trip), when using promocode: LaLigaSpace during the 21st& 22nd of June.
