CAIRO – 1 April 2019: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, led his team to achieve a 2-1 dramatic victory over Tottenham Hotspur at home at the Premier League.

Salah was behind the late goal that secured the three points for the Reds and kept the team in the title race.

Salah revealed what he told his manager, Jurgen Klopp, after the game, saying “When I went into the dressing room, I spoke to the manager. I said, 'It’s not always that you have to play good. The most important thing is the points. The big teams always find a way to get the points. Maybe today we didn’t play our top game but winning the game is the most important thing.'”

Two minutes before the final whistle, the score was 1-1 at Anfield and the home team needed a hero to gain the three points.
Salah received a wonderful cross from Trent Alexander Arnold and his header was dropped by the visitors’ goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris, onto the legs of his teammate, Toby Alderweireld, who failed to control the ball and scored an own goal.

Liverpool are leading the league title with 79 points, two points ahead of the defending champions, Manchester City, who still have a postponed game.
