KUWAIT CITY, March 14 (MENA) - The Global Biking Initiative (GBI) cycling for charity event started in Kuwait Thursday with the aim to boost social responsibility.

With 85 bikers from eight countries taking part, the GBI event will last for three days in a bid to promote awareness of and support for humanitarian agencies, said GBI representative in Kuwait Sarah al Hubail.

Kuwait is the first Gulf state to ever host the event, which already took place in more than 16 countries, Hubail noted.

Themed "we cycle for a reason", the event will group teams from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, Britain, India and Kuwait.

Bikers are expected to cycle for 350 kilometers across Kuwait.

The GBI is a fast-growing, worldwide cycling community with the mission to raise fund for charities in more than twenty countries.
