CAIRO – 31 December 2018: Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, showed his happiness with Mohamed Salah’s gesture when he let his teammate, Roberto Firmino, take the penalty against Arsenal to complete his hat-trick.

“Mo Salah gave the penalty to Firmino and I almost cried because we all know how much Mo wants to score goals. It was really nice. Christmas is over but not between the boys!” Klopp told press after the game.

Liverpool were 1-0 down after only 9 minutes but they returned in the game and defeated Arsenal 5-1 on Saturday night at Anfield thanks to a hat-trick from Firmino and two goals from Salah and Sadio Mane. Liverpool are nine points ahead of the second placed, Tottenham Hotspur.

Klopp added, “The response was world class; we stayed calm and really forced the mistakes.”

Salah reached 13 goals and he is leading the race for Premier League top goal scorer alongside Arsenal’s Aubameyang and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

Liverpool will face the defending champions, Manchester City, on Thursday night at Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
