CAIRO – 26 December 2018: Former Nigerian International, Emmanuel Amunike, believes that Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, will win Ballon d’Or award following his amazing performance with Liverpool and Egypt national team.

“Salah continued the exceptional performance he had last season with Liverpool that made him nominated for Ballon d’ Or. Salah makes all Africa proud,” Amunike told press.

Amunike is well-known among all the Egyptian football fans as he started his career away from Nigeria with Zamalek when he was 21 and then his career continued in Europe with Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona and Albacete.

Amunike’s best achievements with Zamalek were achieving the League title in his debut season in 1991 and the 1993 CAF Champions League title.

The Nigerian continued “Salah seems happy at Liverpool and he is keeping his scoring records and challenging for golden boot award. The most important thing is to keep his form and he can one day become the best player in the world.”

The Egyptian scored 44 goals last season at all competitions, including 32 goals at the league that granted him the Premier League Golden Boot award.
This season, Salah suffered a frustrating start with his team but he regained his form and scored eleven goals at the league for Liverpool after 18 games leading his team to Premier League leadership.

He also scored a decisive goal against Napoli at home that secure his team’s qualification to second round.
