CAIRO – 5 November 2018: Saudi Arabian port city Jeddah will host the Italian Super Cup game between Juventus and AC Milan at the King Abdullah Sports City, according to Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The game will take place on January 16.

This is the first time that the Super Cup, previously hosted by Libya, China, Qatar and New York, will take place in Saudi Arabia.

Juventus qualified for the game as the League and Cup winners, while Milan will play the game as the Cup runners-up.

Juventus and Milan have a record seven Italian Super Cups, and played against each other in 2003 and 2016; Milan won both games by penalty shootouts.

Juventus played the last six Italian Super Cup games, but they failed to achieve the titles at the last two occasions and the final in 2016 to Milan, while they lost last year’s final to Lazio.

Saudi Arabia has long been a destination of big football events, and they organized an international friendly tournament last October where Iraq, Brazil and Argentina’s national teams participated alongside Saudi Arabia.
