CAIRO – 14 August 2018: Barcelona opens their new season at their castle, Camp Nou, with a friendly game against Argentina’s Boca Juniors on Wednesday night in Juan Gamper trophy game.

It will be the sixth appearance for the Argentinean team at the annual friendly game as they participated in the tournament five times before in 1967, 1977, 1984, 2003 and 2008 and they only achieved the title once in 2003 by penalty shootouts.

This game is Barcelona’s final preparation for the new season and Barca fans are expected to pack the stadium to watch their new signings.

Barcelona has signed five new players this summer to strengthen their squad. They signed Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich, Arthur Melo from Gremio, Clément Lenglet from Sevilla, Malcom Felipe from Bordeaux and Moussa Wagué from Eupen.

Barcelona has had a great start for the season by achieving Spanish Super Cup title after defeating Sevilla 2-1 on Sunday thanks to Gerrard Pique and Ousmane Dembele's goals.

Barcelona will open their campaign to defend their League title on Saturday at Camp Nou against Deportivo Alaves.
