CAIRO – 7 April 2018: Zinedine Zidane, the manager of Real Madrid, confirmed that his players will not appoint a guard of honor for Barcelona in the next game between the two teams at La Liga, in case Barca was crowned with the title before the Clasico.

"Soon I'm going to be asked about this and my answer is very clear. It's my decision and it is final. I don't understand the concept of the guard of honor and so we aren't going to do it. Barca broke with the tradition,” Zidane said yesterday in the press conference before Madrid’s derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, scheduled for Sunday.

“We are in the full focus of tomorrow's game, the team is going through a good period, and we want to continue on this,” Zidane added. “Gareth Bale will stay with us for the forthcoming season, he will stay, I understand his feeling well because he did not play the previous games, but for me, everyone is important and difficult to choose."

Zidane finished his talk with his future plans, “I did not talk to anyone in the club about my future, things are the same. I will continue coaching and whatever happens in the future I do not care.”
