CAIRO – 7 April 2018: Premier League leaders, Manchester City, hosts Manchester United today at 6:30 p.m. Cairo local time, in the top match of the 33rd week of the Premier League (PL), and it might be the decisive game of the season.

Etihad Stadium might witness today a historical moment; if Man City overcomes Man United, Man City will be announced officially as the Premier League champion of 2017/2018 season. Man City leads the standings table with 84 points after a glorious season; the team has not lost until now except one game which was against Liverpool that ended with a 4-3 victory for the Reds. While the nearest competitor, Manchester United, has 68 points.

Manchester City’s defender John Stones said that winning the title from the derby match against United would sweeten their triumph; “For the city, for our fans, for everyone, I am sure it will mean a lot more beating United to (win) the title, it is that extra bonus for people to say,” Stones told Sky Sports.

While at United’s camp, the team’s head coach Jose Mourinho said reasonable words on Friday as he wants to finish second and it’s his only desire for the current season. “This game doesn’t come in an ideal situation, for there’s quite a gap of points between the two of us, but we all know that it’s a special game. We’re looking forward to playing against them and having a good performance. That’s what our fans deserve,” Mourinho said according to Manchester United’s official website.

Manchester City’s coach, Pep Guardiola, and Jose Mourinho have faced each other as coaches in 20 matches, Guardiola won in 9, while Mourinho won in only four matches, and the draw was the result of the seven remaining matches.

In the same context, the official Twitter of the Premier League posted an interactive poll on Friday asking followers if Manchester is Blue or Red.
