CAIRO – 29 March 2018: The Egyptian National Team's assistant coach, Osama Nabih, revealed on Thursday that the coaching staff will give a chance to the reserves at the friendly game against Kuwait on May 26.

Nabih spoke to the radio about the Switzerland camp, saying “It was a good opportunity to give a chance to the whole squad to play against Portugal and Greece.”

Egypt faced Portugal and Greece at the Switzerland camp. After Egypt led the game against Portugal 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah, they ended up losing 2-1 in the additional time. Egypt's team lost 1-0 to Greece.

“We will give the chance to the reserves and the new comers in the match against Kuwait. This game will be their last chance because we will play the pre World Cup games with the starting players,” said Nabih

Egypt will meet Kuwait in May and will face Belgium and Colombia in June, days before their participation in the World Cup in Russia.

Nabih added, "We will play against Kuwait without the international players. We will count on players from the domestic league.”

Egypt qualified to the World Cup in Russia ending 28 years of absence, as the national team last played in the World Cup in 1990 in Italy.

Egypt plays in Group A alongside Saudi Arabia, Uruguay and the host nation, Russia.
