CAIRO – 21 March 2018: Atletico Madrid’s French striker, Antoine Griezmann, revealed on Wednesday that he will make an important decision impacting his future before participating with France in the World Cup in Russia.

“I want to travel to Russia without this concern; it is not about knowing where I'll play, but about having the peace of mind if I'm still in one place or another,” Griezmann told L’Equipe on Wednesday.

Griezmann, 27, has been linked with a move to Barcelona next summer; however, Atletico Madrid will offer the French striker a new contract to secure his services.

Griezmann added, “What bothers me the most is that everyone asks me about this issue."

Griezmann joined Atletico Madrid in 2014 from his childhood club, Real Sociedad, and since then he established himself as a key player at the club leading them to 2016 Champions League final when they lost to Real Madrid on penalties.

Griezmann revealed that he prefers to achieve a title for his team more than winning an individual award. He said, “I am part of a group and I prefer to win a collective title than an individual one. I want to win a World Cup or the Champions League, and then the Ballon d'Or will come, if it has to come.”

The World Cup draw put France in Group C alongside Denmark, Peru and Australia.
