CAIRO – 17 March 2018: The Olympic national football team’s coaching staff, headed by Shawky Gharib, has announced the squad list which will enter a training camp before travelling to Saudi Arabia for the two friendly matches set against the Saudis scheduled for March 22 and 26.

The list contained 27 players but the coaching staff will choose 24 players only to travel with the team to the Saudi Kingdom.

Gharib said that he preferred to choose 27 players in case an emergency occurs, because there will be several matches played in the upcoming period in the 30th week of the Egyptian Premier League and African matches. He will subsequently narrow down the players to have 24 only travel to Saudi Arabia.

Olympic team coach Shawki Gharib has revealed that the team will be gathered next Monday to lightly train in the gym.

The Egyptian mission is due to leave Cairo International Airport at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday for Saudi Arabia.

The 27 players list included:
From Al Ahly: Ahmed Yasser Rayan, Ahmed Hamdy, Akram Tawfek, Karim Walid, Ahmed Ramadan and Salah Mohsen.
From Zamalek: Ahmed Abo el-Fotoh, and Omar Salah.
From Ismaily: Walid Ateya.
From Talaea el-Gaish: Mohamed Esam el-Ghandour and Ahmed Hany Hussein.
From Petrojet: Mohamed Abdel Salam and Mahmoud Emad.
From Misr el-Maqassa: Osama Galal and Mohamed Ahmed Desouky.
From Moqawolon: Taher Mohamed Taher.
From Al Dakhleya: Nasser Mansy and Ahmed Moustafa el-Sayed.
From Wadi Degla: Ahmed Sayed and Mahmoud Mary.
From Al-Entag Al-Harby: Mohamed Hussein Farag.
From Al-Masry: Karim el-Iraqy.
From Smouha: Naser Maher.
From Al-Ragaa: Omar Wail.
From Al-Assyouty: Sherif Reda.
