CAIRO – 1 March 2018: Manchester City captain, Vincent Kompany believes that Arsenal players will seek revenge during their game on Thursday night in the Premier League.

“You can't take away the fact that they're a team with a lot of quality and the players are probably wounded at this moment,” Kompany told Sky Sports on Thursday.

Manchester City defeated Arsenal 3-0 on Sunday night in the EFL Cup final to achieve their first title this season.

Kompany scored the second goal in the game after he deflected a shot from İlkay Gündoğan.

Kompany added, “I draw on my personal experience of beating Liverpool in the final then getting spanked when we went to Anfield four days later. We have to focus and be ready for a difficult game."

Manchester City defeated Liverpool in 2016 to win the EFL Cup title and four days later they lost 3-0 to Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League.

Kompany praised City’s Spanish manager, Pep Guardiola, saying, “every moment since Pep has come in we've enjoying training, learning and playing our football.”
