CAIRO – 28 February 2018: Al-Ahly striker Marwan Mohsen led his team to defeat El-Dakhleya 3-0 on Wednesday night in the Egyptian League and take another step towards achieving the 40th league title.

After the victory, Al-Ahly reached 72 points and the team needs only four points from the remaining seven games to achieve the title.

Al-Ahly entered the game with a massive attacking line of Walid Azarro, Walid Soliman, Salah Mohsen and Junior Ajayi, as they missed Abd Allah El Said and Ahmed Hamoudi due to injury.

Al-Ahly players failed to create chances to score, ending the first half with a goalless draw.

Al-Ahly manager Hossam el-Badry substituted Salah Mohsen with Marwan Mohsen 10 minutes into the second half.

Marwan needed only five minutes to open the score for Al-Ahly, with a stunning header after he met Ahmed Fathi’s cross.

Walid Soliam doubled the score for Al-Ahly five minutes later from a free kick.

Mohsen participated in Al-Ahly’s third goal, as he provided an assist to Azarro, who added the third goal to secure Al-Ahly’s victory.

El-Dakhleya’s disastrous run continued, as they lost their fourth consecutive game in the league and are in 12th place with 30 points.
