Great week for Egyptian players abroad

CAIRO – 7 February 2018: The last week was great for most of the Egyptian players abroad, as they shined with their teams, whether by scoring goals or starring by their amazing performances.

They managed to score 10 goals and provide three assists with their teams.

The highlight of the week was Egyptian player Mohamed Salah, who scored three goals with Liverpool.

The first goal was against Huddersfield Town in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory, who then scored a brace against Tottenham Hotspurs in the thrilling 2-2 draw at Anfield Stadium.

West Bromwich Albion’s Egyptian defender, Ahmed Hegazy, scored one goal in the 3-2 defeat against Southampton in the Premier League.

This is Hegazy’s second goal in the Premier League with Bromwich. Hegazy joined West Bromwich last summer and managed to start in all the matches.

Ahmed Elmohammadi, Aston Villa’s winger, scored his team a victory over Burton Albion in the English Championship. Elmohammadi scored an own goal, but he then managed to quickly provide an assist and help his team win 3-2.

Elmohammadi is shining with Aston Villa this season, as he played 28 games and provided five assists.

Egyptian midfielder Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet led his team, Kasimpasa, to secure a valuable victory after a win over Akhisar with a score of 2-0 in the Turkish Super League.

This victory helped Kasimpasa to jump to the eleventh place with 25 points.

Trezeguet participated in 20 matches with Kasimpasa; he scored nine goals and provided four assists this season in all the competitions.

Hussein El Shahat, Al Ain’s new signing, was the Egyptian protagonist, as he scored a hat trick with his team and provided two assists against Ajman in the Emirati League. This was after he assisted a goal in Al Ain’s 2-0 victory over Bahrain’s Malkeya in the Asian Champions League.

Shahat started to gain a place in Al Ain fans’ hearts since he scored in his debut in the Emirati Classico against Al-Wasl, taking his team to the top of the league's table.


Playing in the UAE entails he could continue in a competitive league with the biggest club in a country that always secures a place in AFC Champions League. Playing in the UAE also means a better financial situation for him and his family.

Ahmed El Sheikh, player for Saudi Arabis’a Ettifaq, scored his first goal with his team in the 2-1 victory over El Fath.

Mohamed Abdel Shafy, El Fath’s defender, assisted his team’s goal in the same match.



Moamen Zakaria also scored his first goal with Al Ahly Saudi in the 3-2 victory over Al Shabab.
