CAIRO – 26 January 2018: Al Ahly defeated Al Rajaa Marsa Matrouh 3-1 on Thursday in the 20th round of the Egyptian League at Alexandria Stadium.

Al Ahly raised their points to 48 to top the table with one postponed game, while Al Rajaa remained in the bottom of the table with 12 points.

Al Rajaa surprised Al Ahly in the first half with a goal through their striker Nasser Hamada at the 36th minute after he dodged Al Ahly defender Mohamed Hany then put the ball in Al Ahly’s goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy’s net.

The referee canceled three goals in the first half for Al Ahly due to the offside rule.

In the second half, Walid Azzarou leveled the score for Al Ahly when he scored the first goal and his 10th goal in the League, at the 51st minute.

At the 59th minute, Al Ahly’s defender Bassem Ali amazingly received Abdullah el Said’s, Al Ahly’s midfielder, ball and kicked it directly to render the score 2-1.

Islam Mohareb, Al Ahly’s midfielder, raised his team’s goals to three after he blew a shot inside Al Rajaa’s net at the 73rd minute. This is Mohareb’s third goal with Al Ahly this season.
