CAIRO – 14 January 2018: Real Madrid German midfielder, Toni Kroos was realistic after Real Madrid's 1-0 loss at home to Villarreal on Saturday at the Spanish League.
Kroos gave up defending their League title;he aims to secure a place at the UEFA Champions League next season.

"We have to focus on qualifying for the Champions League next season;we have to think about our current position. I think this should be our goal for the remainder of the season," Kroos told press on Saturday.

Real Madrid are suffering this season in the league. They are 16 points behind the leaders, Barcelona, who still have a game against Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Kroos spoke about the gap between them and Barcelona, “Sixteen points is very far away and now isn't the time to think about anything other than the next game. We have to start gaining points once more. This will allow Real Madrid to get closer to their goal of finishing inside the top four."

Real Madrid players will focus on the UEFA Champions League and the Spanish Cup to save their season after their crisis in the League.
