CAIRO – 7 January 2018: International football star Emad Moteab arrived in Saudi Arabia on Sunday to join Al-Taawon.

Al-Taawon signed with Moteab a six-month-loan contract from Al-Ahly; the player’s contract with Al-Ahly will officially end at the end of the current season.

The first match for Moteab in the Al-Taawon jersey will be against Al-Raed in the 17th round of the Saudi Premier League, where he will face Zamalek former star Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala. Moteab is not the only Egyptian playing for AL-Taawon as his old teammate Esam el-Hadary guards the team’s net, and young former Zamalek star Moustafa Fathy plays in the attacking midfield.

Al-Taawon is in the seventh place in the table with 20 points after playing 16 matches. The team has won five matches, lost six and ended five matches in a draw.
