CAIRO – 12 April 2017: Former Al-Ahly star and current Stoke City’s winger, Ramadan Sobhy, advanced to the sixth spot in the nominations for the Golden Boy award, given to the best player aged under 21 in Europe over the last 12 months.

Sobhy is now among the finalists for the award which uses an online voting system. Some 100 players were nominated for the award and the winner will be announced today.

Sobhi’s nomination came on the back of a string of fine performances with his team in Stoke’s appearances in the English league.

The 20-year-old star joined Stock last summer, coming from the Egyptian Ahly club, where scouts noticed his promising skills which raised the interests of international teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Man City, and Liverpool.
