CAIRO – 31 December 2017 : Atletico Madrid defeated Al Ahly 3-2 at a friendly game on Saturday night at Borg El Arab stadium in front of 70,000 Egyptian fans who attended to send a message of peace to the whole world.

Al Ahly dominated the game since its start and Mahmoud Abdel Monem known as Kahraba was Al Ahly’s best player on the pitch and created many chances to score but Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak saved all Al Ahly chances.

Moamen Zakaria opened the score for Al Ahly six minutes before the half time from a wide shot to end the first half 1-0 for the hosts.

In the second half, Al Ahly doubled the score through Ahmed El Sheikh through a shot inside the Spanish team’s area.

Atletico Madrid French striker, Kevin Gameiro scored three goals to secure his team’s victory.

Gameiro scored his first goal in the game through a stunning header at 63 minutes and he equalized the score for his team 10 minutes later.

Gameiro scored his team winning goal in the game after seve minutes when he received the ball from his eammate, Antoine Griezmann to score his third goal in the game.

Al Ahly lost 3-2 to their Spanish opponent but it was a game with more important goals than the game result. It was a clear message of piece to the whole world and in these kind of games, we are all winners.
