CAIRO – 31 December 2017: Misr El-Makasa manager, Emad Soliman announced the club’s squad for the CAF Champions League. El-Makasa qualified for the CAF Champions League for the first time in their history after being the 2017 Egyptian League runner-up after al-Ahly won the title.

El-Makasa squad consists of 19 players, Ahmed Abdel Aziz known as Mody, Hany Said, Mohamed Fathy, Assem Said, Paulin Voavy, Hossny Fathy, Moahmed Tony, Mahmoud Wahid, Mahmoud Hamdy, Mohamed Sobhy, Salah Rico, Hussein El Shahat, Mohamed Mosaed, Mohamed Koko, Marwan Hamdy, Eric Traoré, John Antwi and Eslam Gaber.

Soliman preferred to add only 19 players in the squad to leave space for new signers.

The CAF Champions League preliminary round draw put Misr el-Makasa against Senegal’s Generation Foot.

El-Makasa will open their participation in the tournament in February in Senegal before playing the second leg in Egypt.

The winner of this match will play against the winner of the clash between Niger’s AS FAN and Guinea’s Horoya AC in March.
