CAIRO – 24 December 2017: Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcón was a victim of the tactical surprise of Real Madrid’s coach, Zinedine Zidane.

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-0 on Saturday at the latter’s stadium, Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s French coach chose Mateo Kovacic to play in the midfield, leaving Isco on the bench. Isco not only wasn’t a starter, but also didn’t play a single minute during the game.

With 2-0 on the scoreboard and Madrid with one less player in the field after Carvajal’s red card, Zidane was going to put in Asensio and Bale but preferred to substitute out Karim Benzema by Madrid’s defender Nacho to make up for the defensive mismatch of the red card.

Isco understood that he would no longer participate in the match, then he stopped warming up, a gesture that Cadena SER, Spanish radio, valued as a refusal to continue warming up.

The player himself gave his opinion on Twitter once the game was over by saying, “Stop posting crap; my other two companions were going to leave. I did not know that we could do 4 changes (Sarcasm).”
