CAIRO – 17 December 2017: French Club Lille announced on Saturday that it terminated its contractual relationship with Argentinean Marcelo Bielsa, who, on November 22, left the bench of the first team and with whom he has a dispute over his compensation.

The announcement has a relative value, since Bielsa did not coach the team since then, but is a step in the process of dismissal.
The Argentinean was once described by Tottenham’s boss, Mauricio Pochettino, as his "football father" while Manchester City’s boss Pep Guardiola previously said his admiration for him was "huge."

Bielsa left the team after some unsatisfactory results in the French league: the team was relegated.
Following Bielsa's initial suspension, Lille appointed a four-man "technical coaching unit" of Fernando Da Cruz, Joao Sacramento, Benoit Delaval and Franck Mantaux.

Lille, which at the end of last season was acquired by the Spanish-Luxembourg businessman Gerard Lopez, is currently 18th in the league, which would lead him to a dispute of a promotion to maintain the category.
