CAIRO - 14 December 2017: Louis van Gaal has surprised everyone with what he said about Borussia Dortmund, and it was considered a lack of respect for the club..

The Dutch coach, retired from football activity for a couple of years, was interviewed by the Fox Sports network and when asked about the possibility of training the German team, he replied: "I think that Dortmund is not comparable to Bayern Munich, so No.

Today, as a coach I do not have much time, so I cannot transform a small team to become a great club."

His comments have fallen like a bomb in Dortmund, where Peter Stoger has started his reign as a replacement coach for the dismissed Peter Bosz.

Van Gaal, on the other hand, spoke better of another German team.

"I had an offer from Bayer Leverkusen, which is a club that suits me, with many young talents," he said explaining that, despite this, he rejected the offer.

Since leaving Manchester United in 2015 and being replaced by Jose Mourinho, van Gaal has not returned to coaching.
